New twigs & honey blog post :: Fluff Life by Marisa

Here is another sweet blog post on twigs & honey. I love this blog!!! The sweet, sweet lady that is the brains behind Fluff Life, Marisa, is such a delight! She'll be getting married in February of 2009, but is well on her way in terms of planning. I swear, if I ever had a long lost twin, Marisa is her! Visit her blog for great design and style tips (and some sweet tasting treats - at least visually speaking!). Thank you for the thoughtful post!

I, like so many out there, am a self described pack rat. Every snippet of ribbon, length of thread, button, and broken sand dollar, I hoard because someday, I'll need it (right?). Well, as for my hair pieces, I develop these little attachments to each one and always wonder, "Did they arrive to the customer okay?" OR "I wonder what adventure it will be taken on?" Recently, I was fortunate to have a wonderfully talented photographer purchase a piece from my Etsy shop. This particular piece happened to be a personal favorite of mine and I was so tickled to see photos of its arrival to Laura Ryan Photography. Laura just so happens to be this amazing photographer (any interested brides - check her out!) and was so kind to snap a handful of photos and send them my way. I am so happy that this piece found its way into the talented hands of Laura! I know she'll take care of my hearted piece and did I mention, Laura is super sweet to boot?! Well, after seeing the twigs & honey piece so nicely cared for already, I feel the grip on my trinkets and odds and ends slightly loosening. Perhaps I shouldn't be so attached after all? I do believe that all the pieces are going to develop wonderful stories with each person who takes one home! Memories, really, to last a lifetime. Thank you Laura Ryan Photography! To all the special brides and ladies who have already or will purchase a piece, send photos when you get the chance! I'd love to see them! Thank you ahead of time.

Suprisingly, none of these stellar shots made it into any of the albums this year. We just thought you might like to see our super serious side. Don't count on having any fun with us on your wedding day, a wedding is no place for that!

twigs & honey :: by myra :: New piece in shop!

Just a shop twigs & honey announcement:

After many inquiries about when I'd be listing a new piece in my shop, I made a new one yesterday between orders and have posted it in my Etsy shop. Please check it out! I think it's absolutely darling with baby blues and yellow. It is absolutely perfect for spring (as it was inspired by a random sunny day here in Oregon - land of perpetual rain!). Please convo me if you are interested in a custom order!

Yay! The wedding is only 5 weeks away! (Gulp. says heidi)
We met up yesterday at Belcourt Castle in Newport for a pre-wedding portrait session. They will be getting married there on March 29th, so it was nice to catch up and go over all of the details before the wedding. I'm really looking forward to shooting their wedding, it's going to be a beautiful evening and I'm sure the bride will be stunning! They are truly such a nice couple and it's fun to see people in love and excited for their wedding...

Just a twigs & honey shop update...

I've currently sold out of all my shop pieces! I'm still taking custom orders so be sure to convo me in Etsy if you are interested in a piece!

I wanted to mention that I'll be posting a new shop piece tonight (maybe around 9-11pm Pacific time) in my Etsy shop. It was the one I created special for a wedding event (check out paulrichstudio.blogspot.com). I'm wearing it in the photo above.

I am going to try to create more pieces/inventory sometime toward the end of the week or the weekend. Check back!! If you can't wait, convo me and we can come up with a custom piece!

Thank you!

twigs & honey :: by myra :: Brand New Blog!

So here it is! My first blog entry. I'll be posting in my blog, any updates such as shop updates, press updates, and general thoughts and maybe fashion ideas. I suppose the sky is the limit! I'm very excited to have started this blog in conjunction with my twigs & honey line. With my husband's loving support, the support of others in the industry, and family, I've been so lucky to have begun creating twigs & honey pieces for brides, bridesmaids, and other fashion forward or adventurous types. I hope to launch my new website soon! If you are interested in any pieces or a custom order, convo me through my Etsy shop. Photo credit: Paul Rich Studio.

Trish and the Family Fly South

It's true, I left Mariah for the warm breezes, sandy beaches and soft ice cream! My mom lives in Venice Florida during the winter months and we are lucky enough to be able to enjoy time there.
We went for ten days this year and were lucky to have great weather the entire time. Which was a nice change of pace for us. Last year it rained the entire time, we made three trips to the emergency room and wound up driving home in a mini van because of double ear infections in our son. It was a bit rough.
Actually something has happened every time we have a vacation or time off together as a family. So we were glad to have a more normal vacation this year! Following are a few 'snaps' from our trip...

This is Isaac, one of the future heirs to the Snap! Photography business. He is "ready to roll" - to the pool.

We saw this 13 foot gator... from a boat. He/She was just out in nature relaxing, not in a zoo!

This is my husband Jim looking for fossilized sharks teeth at Casperson Beach, it's addictive!

I think the 'Snapadamia' should be our new mascot! Although Mariah and I would eat them all!
